Anna's hummingbird

Calypte anna

Description:

The babies are now big enough and I am pretty sure I saw them take one of their first flights today. These pictures are from a range of dates from March 22 until today April 10. It has been so wonderful watching them grow.

The picture with the mom and the birds is one of the last I got. I was lucky enough to catch the chicks preparing for a flight (testing their wings and tongues) the mom came and fed them, then I had to leave to get my son from school by the time I got back they were all gone.
