Zebra Spider

Salticus scenicus

Description:

Pounces on prey to catch it. Very smart species of spider, excellent vision! Guards egg sac until young hatch. Will bite or go after your finger, especially adults, but is harmless.

Habitat:

Fences,behind tables,house siding,yard,bushes, sometimes found inside getting in by mistake.

Notes:

Does not build a web, except a small one to rest in at night, or wrap egg sac in. Hunts down prey.
