Grove Snail

Cepaea nemoralis

Description:

A yellow and black banded snail.

Habitat:

Very common snail found throughout most of Western Europe, in a range of habitats.

Notes:

Spotted in a backyard garden. The interesting thing about this snail is that it was found in Ohio, USA. Apparently the grove snail, although extremely common in Western Europe, has only recently been introduced to North America and Venezuela (according to Wikipedia). It could be rare.
