Athene cunicularia
A pair of Burrowing Owls were nesting by the edge of a trail at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park.
Thanks Mark. They're clever little birds.
Beautiful as usual Tom. These little guys gather mammal dung around their nests to use as bait for dung beetles. Smarties.
Thanks Ali.
So Cool!
Seems to happen a lot for you :)
Thanks Ashley. It's nice when things fall in place, the owls are approachable and the light is good:-)
Thanks Emily. These little guys are nice and I hope you get to see the ones in Colorado.
You definitely win with burrowing owl shots, they are fantastic!
Wow! Love the flying shot! Burrowing owls are already back here in Colorado as well! Exceptional shots! Love these little guys!
Thanks Rosa. It's always exciting seeing an owl, especially in the daytime.
That's awesome!
