Lappet Moth

Description:

Newly-eclosed Lappet moth mimicking a dead leaf. This beautiful moth emerged 10 days after the caterpillar at http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/225... spun its cocoon.

Habitat:

Urban garden.

Notes:

Probably an Estigena (Gastropacha) sp. (Lasiocampidae; Pinarinae)
