Wedge-shaped Beetle

Macrosiagon cruenta

Description:

Red beetle with black "V" shape where pronotum meet the elytra and on the tips of the elytra. The combed antennae, legs and front half of the abdomen are also black. The elytra pull apart toward the ends which give it the common name. This is "A classic M. cruenta," per Zack Falin in contrast to my other spotting of this species: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/208...
