Anas strepera
The male Gadwall has a fine pattern of gray, black and brown. They have a large black patch on their rear. Their heads are large and squarish with a steep forehead. Females have a thin yellow edge to their dark bills. Females are a buff and brown color. They have a white wing patch that is often visible when swimming or resting.
