Indian Roller

Coracias benghalensis

Description:

I managed to get another roller in my collection! This time the gorgeous Indian Roller. This roller species has a brownish/purple chest, back and face with a blue cap, vent and wings. It is really spectacular to view in flight, when the indigo, turquoise and electrical blue on the upper and underside of the wings is visible (see third image).

Habitat:

Spotted in Safa Park in Dubai.
