Garden Orb Weaver ( white spot form)

Description:

This orb weaver was the dark form of this species. It had bright white spots on the abdomen. It was found hiding in its leaf shelter.

Habitat:

Spotted on a eucalyptus tree in a nature reserve.

Notes:

There are a few forms of this species as can be seen in the reference link. The spider builds an orb at night and its taken down at dawn and consumed by the spider, along with the trapped insects and any pollen.
