Glassy Tiger

Parantica aglea

Description:

Butterfly with black and white markings.

Habitat:

On Indian Heliotrope plant.

Notes:

There were three different species of butterflies on the plant at the same time. There was one which had blue markings instead of white but was otherwise very similar. The blue one is Tirumala limniace, no doubt.

Blue Tiger is not dimorphic, however this is a male butterfly (only the male having a scent- patch). color can be variable as in these pictures

The colouration of this butterfly is white and black. I have a picture of a Blue Tiger too...it is distinctly blue. Is it dimorphic???
