Spotting

Description:

Project Noah made me climb a tree and luckily it was worth it! About 2,5 meter up this Mango tree, this interesting "thing" decided to build a nest! The web nest was about 8 cm diagonally and the bug was about 4-5 cm. I guess this will be very hard to ID, but I am happy to share the spotting!

Habitat:

Urban/Coastal environment, close to a grass field airport. Dry season.

Hahaha. Is a safe place. It is the only place where people can not find their insects and throw away after a cry.

Sckel, good that you did not miss the hatching moment taking place there under your bed :) (why under the bed?) That is a scary place to let things hatch :D

I found pupae and took her to my house, and left them under the bed until transform into a butterfly. It is very beautiful to see the butterfly out of the cocoon, dry their wings and fly into the blue sky. But you could not take it. It spends a lot of energy building his ingenious little shelter. You respect it, it is also beautiful. ;)

I found traces of this spotting when I went back to the place about two months later. It was hatched and paper thin flakes with the same type of pattern was what I found in the two nests I examinated. They were reinforced with different types of material than this spotting... One day we might find out what came out of there :)

Thanks Faredin for the comment and the suggestion on what might be going on in that web!
Have a great day in Denmark and lets the bugs be with you :D

Nice spotting, it could be a beetle undergoing metamorphosis.
