Angled Leaf Katydid

Lacipoda immunda

Description:

Spotting #666 (devil's spotting!) - Lacipoda immunda - a nocturnal species of katydid. Green-colored leaf mimic. They are found abundantly in certain areas. Very inactive, does not move much or fly away. 34mm in length from forehead to wingtip.

Habitat:

On a low tree branch along a trail in Tawau Hills Park, Tawau, Sabah.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 200m diameter. Spotted this during a nightwalk with Dan in one of the forest trails. Photography tips: Do not use powerful flash and lighting because this insect is highly reflective / fluorescent and will appear too bright in the photograph. Use minimum light when photographing this.
