Rough Earth Snake

Virginia striatula

Description:

Solid brown all over. The last photo shows a rough and smooth earth together. There's a slight color difference between the two, but the best way to tell them apart is by counting the number of upper lip scales.

Habitat:

Found under a small log in piney woods.
