Philemon citreogularis
These little ones are less than but definitely not older than 18 days old. "Juvenile little friarbirds tend to have a paler appearance with a lighter facial skin. The chin throat and in some cases, upper breast tends to appear as a washed yellow with yellow spots on side of breast. The terming ‘citregularis’ is a descriptive term frequently used to describe young birds which have a yellow fore neck. The tail feathers also tend to appear as a shallower cut unlike the adult little friarbirds." (Wiki)
Sitting in a nest (check out this little video of them in the nest: https://youtu.be/2LnOIOj2FsM ) that is suspended from a forked branch in a tree near the front gate of the rubbish dump.
First time seeing Little Friarbird chicks!!! Eighteen days after my mum first spotted the nest with two eggs in it (see spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/184... ) and seeing the female sitting on the nest (see spotting pic 3: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/334... ) we came back to find the two eggs had hatched! I then returned about a week later and the nest was empty. It is thought that the local Pied Butcherbirds (Cracticus nigrogularis picatus), which also included a young one, had probably taken them.

Wonder if these little chicks survived. Cuties and great photos.
Just updated the video link (in the habitat section) because the old one wasn't working.
I agree maplemoth, they were pretty cute :) Unfortunately they didn't survive so it was nice to be able to witness and document their short lives...
Two, beautiful photos....two, beautiful chicks, and a beautiful nest....
