Indomitable Melipotis Moth

Melipotis indomita

Description:

This common moth is 4-5 cm. It uses Mesquite, Prosopis, as a host plant. Despite its striking markings, when on the ground with rocks and leaves it disappears.

Habitat:

On the garage screen door. There are Mesquite trees in the green space around the Lake Lewisville behind my house.
