Waved sphinx (Ceratomia undulosa)

Loved all the info in these comments. I get these or the tomato horn worms in my garden. I'll look more closely for a definite ID next time.

I've revised this ID to the Waved sphinx (Ceratomia undulosa), given the location and the color of the tail spike.
