Marbled crab

Pachygrapsus marmoratus

Description:

A small crab with an almost square carapace, some 4 cm across, bearing three conspicuous teeth on each side of the front margin and a distinct diagonal ridge across the back.

Habitat:

Habitat borders shallow waters, where this crab roams and hunts.

Notes:

I must admit that I would never know its exact scientific name - I classified it as "crab" in my files up to now - but, when searching today for some references, the first photo was of this little fella, with its full scientific name...
