Common Snapping Turtle

Description:

This Snapping Turtle has the smoother shell. It's nostrils are at the tip of their snout.

Habitat:

This particular individual was along a fence that enclosed a good size retention pond at the edge of a County Preserve. It was most likely stymied on how to continue its travels due to the fence blocking it path.
