Description:

large 4-5 inch diameter cap, tan with brown scales radiating from the dark brown center. gills dark brown, free. stalk with skirt-like ring. about 6 inches tall

Habitat:

on the ground, next to and from under a fallen oak.

Notes:

produced a chocolate brown spore print. if this is not Agaricus placomyces, then it is something very close to it.
