grayish violet caps about 1-2 in. in diameter. violet crowded gills attached to stalk. Ashy violet-gray stalk widening at the base.

Habitat:

In the leaf litter, debris and moss in the crag of a large rock, in south central VT woods of maple, oak, beech and conifers
