Leucosticte tephrocotis
A medium-sized finch of alpine and tundra habitats (lower in winter), often in large flocks (photo 2), brown overall with a gray hindcrown in most subspecies, but in the coastal subspecies (littoralis, highlighted in photo 3), the entire head is gray.
