Fratercula arctica
An unmistakable bird with its black back and white underparts, and distinctive black head with large pale cheeks and a tall, flattened, brightly-coloured bill. Its comical appearance is heightened by its red and black eye-markings and bright orange legs. They arrive in the UK between March and April and leave around August after breeding on the cliffs and fishing in the shallow coastal waters for sandeels.
seen at Bempton cliffs, one of only four UK sites and home to half of Britains population. The site is owned and maintained by the RSPB.

I havent been here for a while but I'm sure there used to be a lot more puffins here than we saw on Sunday!
Thanks Jopy, I thought so too. I love puffins in flight with their little bright orange legs trailing behind them!
