Eric, I still have this dragonfly. He unfortunately died shortly after these photos were taken. Would pictures of the dried remains help with ID at all?

Hard to be absolutely positive without a close-up of the male's claspers (tail-like appendages at tip of abdomen), but this is by far the most common "darner" dragonfly along the Front Range.

Christy! I meant to show you this spotting last week. I agree, it looks like the same specie of dragon fly! ceejayalyssa suggestion above is very close!
