Thanks for the info, You are right, this butterfly is smallest. With the weather so good and so much food, it is reasonable to choose not to migrate.

The monarch butterfly is famous for migration over long distances. The Peru form is a slightly smaller subspecies that doesn't bother to migrate. The wing tips of yours are darker than this one from USA http://www.flickr.com/photos/macronyx/54... Both are males.
