American Cliff Swallow

Petrochelidon pyrrhonota

Description:

Petrochelidon pyrrhonota, the American Cliff Swallow, is distinguished by the more well-known Hirundo rustica, the Barn Swallow, by a short, square tail, and also the presence of white on the forehead.

Habitat:

These swallows were nesting alongside barn swallows in similar nests, which appeared to be made out of mud. They appeared at a quick glance like old bee or wasp nests.

Notes:

Lifer!
