Description:

Active Polistes sp. paper wasp nest.

Habitat:

Nest on spotted dracaena (Dracaena surculosa) near house located in a large, semi-urban yard & garden, in close proximity to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest.

Notes:

This species time and time again lets me get very close without getting "angry" :-)

Thanks MarcoSelis. I would never have guessed so given that mine has 4 yellow abdominal bands. Perhaps that is not diagnostic. If it isn't, what is? The spot on the wings? The face or thoracic patterns? Thanks. I'd like to learn more.
