Description:

The guara is present in Trinidad and Tobago (where it is the national bird), Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, and the coast of Brazil, where it occurs in abundance in Amapá coastal, in São Paulo, in the municipalities of Cananeia, Iguape cubatão and Guaratuba (coast city of Paraná in his name is a reference of this bird) and having two isolated groups, as reported in the wetlands of the state of Espírito Santo, more specifically in Guarapari.
