Description:

Apple bananas are firm when young and creamy when ripe. When young it is tangy and sweet with a hint of apple.

Notes:

Native to northern Australia and cultivated in Hawaii. Polynesian colonists brought at least two species of bananas to Hawaii. The Apple banana, also known as Latundan, Manzano and Silk banana, is a hybrid cultivar of the Musa balbisiana banana plant and a member of the Musaceae family.
