Description:

Hairy, orange cup-shaped small fungus (this specimen 7/16" - 1.1cm diameter).

Habitat:

South American rainforest. This specimen was on a living tree trunk about 4ft above the jungle floor in Terra Firme along Tahuayo River, Loreto District, Peru.

Notes:

Cookeina tricholoma fungi growing about 4ft (1.25m) above ground level on tree trunk. See picture with tapemeasure for accurate size.
