Amanita punctata

Amanita punctata

Description:

Agaric mushrooms. Cap with central depression, and surface very thin. Translucent in parts when viewed from beneath. Margin is corrugated, and gills fairly large and free from stipe. Signs of feeding on cap surface. Stipe smooth with no ring.

Habitat:

Found along the lake's edge of the Enoggera Reservoir, on the Araucaria Track. Open eucalypt bushland. Sunny aspect, although this particular section of the track was fairly moist. Dark rich soil due to lots of leaf litter.

Notes:

Thanks to Leuba Ridgway for the spotting ID.
