Blue Snail

Description:

I was on a field trip to study the natural area and human affectations on National Park "Juan Crisóstomo Falcón" and in one of our stops, Cerro Galicia, I found this snail near sitting bench in an area with bushes and small trees. That day there was a strong rain there and all the weather was cold.

Habitat:

Found near the bushes and trees in Cerro (Hill) Galicia. Vegetation there is mostly of humid forest and the day we went there it was raining.

Notes:

A Chemist told me it could be blue not because it's naturally like that but due to metal poisoning. I'd like to know if there is a blue snail species or do I need to focus on a metal emission problem on that area.

Hi Judy, lovely spotting and information! I have removed this from the Rare Color Morphs mission until we know the genus and species. At that juncture we can determine whether this is in fact a rare colour for this creature. Thanks, happy spotting, and happy new year!
