Saimiri boliviensis peruviensis
This was a cute and curious monkey, as it appeared in a band of monkeys near our lodge at ExplorNapo along the Rio Napo River, a good half hour's boat ride off the Amazon River in Peru.
Amazon rainforest
The band of monkeys put on quite a show for their human spectators while running up trees, jumping from one branch and tree to another, and then, much as they appeared, moving rapidly as a group to deeper within the jungle.

bayucca: Thanks for your assistance in better identifying this specimen, as well as a few others that I have posted. Appreciate your help.
Annika: Thanks for your comment, as my cross-check for entries failed this time around. I made the correction.
Great photo, but I don't think this guy is a plant! :)

Please, check Saimiri boliviensis peruviensis, Black-capped Squirrel Monkey. The head of ours looks quite dark for the Common Squirrel. You will also find a lot of black-capped IDed as Common ones, so careful ;-)...
