Description:

Pictured here is juvenile, resembling a female - with greenish mantle with black wing covers, and white underparts with dark green streaks - these streaks are more discreet in female. About 25 cm in length.

Habitat:

Golden oriole winters in Africa, and can be found all over the continent. In this spotting, seen on shores of White Nile, in Jebel Aulia region in a campsite near the dam. Semi-arid savannah, with plenty of acacia trees.

Notes:

While we lived in Khartoum, we used to spend our weekends in this place, the "Escape" campsite, on shores of White Nile. This placed and its neighborhood, laced with acacia and other semi-arid region's vegetation, proved to be a bird-watcher paradise...
