1 1/4" long toad rescued from our driveway along with a much larger Fowler's toad - see photos 2 and 3

Thank you marylou and k.andrews! We put in 3 ponds a couple of years back and since then we have seen lots of American and Fowler's toads but this is the first spadefoot I've come across. I wish I'd taken more photos!

Very nice spotting. This is the only species of anuran in my locale that I have never actually seen. Thanks for sharing.

Nice spot, Karen! I love spadefoot toads. In my experience, they are one of the hardest anuran species to find (in GA, anyway). Also, they have one of my favorite calls :)
