River Tern

Sterna aurantia

Description:

River Terns are resident breeders along rivers in India. They are almost always found near freshwater sources. They breed from March to May in large colonies.

Notes:

I observed this bird stretching and preening for a long time. The positions it took resembled yoga and pilates moves and was a treat to watch :)
