Caria rhacotis
The genus Caria, in the family Riodinidae, contains some of the most beautiful and elusive species on Earth. They are rarely seen because of their superb camouflage, usually settling on mossy or algae covered ground beside some source of water.

thanks Ashley for the SOTD. You can imagine how thrilled I was to see this little one beside a small stream in Peru. It really sparkled and contained so many colours. The photo doesn't do it credit.
