Hirundichthys affinis
A surface dwelling coastal species (within 400 miles of land) usually seen in open-water. Common throughout tropical and subtropical Atlantic waters, including the Gulf Stream waters off Virginia, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and south to Brazil.
Sorry the photo's are a bit blurry. Taken at max zoom from high up a cruise deck. Also, location on map very general (it was somewhere in the Florida Straits as we went past Cuba on our way to Gran Cayman) The sea was extremely still and I love the patterned left on the surface by the tail as it propelled its way into the air.
