Mountain Cottontail or Nuttall's Cottontail

Sylvilagus nuttallii

Description:

The mountain cottontail is a small rabbit but relatively large for the genus. Possesses long hind legs and the feet are covered with long hair. Ears are rounded at the tips and relatively short, often having black tips. and the inner surface is covered in hair.

Habitat:

This species is confined to the western mountainous areas of North America.

Notes:

This spotting was found at the Cut Bank Campground in Glacier National Park.
