Spicebush Swallowtail Caterpillar

Papilio troilus

Description:

Family:Papilionidae (swallowtails). 2nd instar and ready to change to 3rd instar. Length: .75 inches (19 mm) Coloring: White with clear head. Body is olive green and white with black "eyes". Found on Spicebush (Lindera). Found wrapped up in a leaf of the Spicebush.

Habitat:

Meadow/woodlands edge.

Notes:
