Description:

Clearly at the end of its blooming period, this feathery, roundish seed head remains atop a 15" to 18" slender plant with small, fern-like foliage.

Habitat:

Trailside, alpine environment.

Notes:

Found early along the Highline trail, Glacier National Park.
