Common spotted ladybird (with psyllid nymphs)

Harmonia conformis

Description:

Mating spotted ladybirds were seen on the same leaf as psyllid lerps and nymphs ( Pic #2 - the nymphs can be seen on either side of the ladybirds as tiny pale wingless insects). Pic 1 shows the female ladybird with a psyllid nymph at it's mouth. I think the nymph ran directly towards the ladybird ( suicidal!!)

Habitat:

On a spotted gum tree (Eucalyptus maculata)
