Giant Water Bug

Lethocerus americanus

Description:

Notes:

At first it appeared dead, but when I went to collect it moved quickly. The first glance it appeared to be a cockroach, but getting closer to it I realized it was something totally different. It was found by a wet culvert in a ditch outside of Calgary.
