Pandion haliaetus
Also known as the sea eagle, these birds are superb fishers. This bird was perched in a tree intently surveying the river beside us and seemed content to let me approach closely, which is unusual. He was fluffed up due to the cold (most other osprey had already migrated south for the winter) but it didn't prevent him from plunging into the river a little while later to catch a large fish.
