Libellula croceipennis
Tentative ID. BugGuide has moved this all the way back to Libellulidae (Skimmers) and are trying to determine what it is. Pale orange, female dragonfly with mostly clear wings. There is a light stripe from the neck, down through the thorax. The female is much less flashier than their male counterparts: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/163... This one has a dark spot on the top of the abdomen and one on the face. Not sure what those are.

Thank you! This one had me convinced it was some species I hadn't seen before until I looked closely at the images. She was very cooperative and let me capture the details that had me stumped :)
Great color and clarity in your photos, Cindy! This dragonfly is a wide-body jet -- the flanges under abdominal segments nine and 10 are the biggest I've ever seen on a female skimmer!
