Jumping Spider

Salticidae, Siler cupreus

Description:

2~5 mm in length.

Habitat:

This one was in short grass.

Notes:

The one in the picture is striking a defensive posture, probably in response to seeing its reflection in my lens. With 500 genera and 5,000 species, it's very difficult to ID a Salticidae. They make up approx. 13% of all spider species. Update: Thanks for your help IDing these, ChunXingWong!
