For me Lantern Bugs (Pyrops species) are the most fascinating of insects. Their colour combinations and giant 'horn' are an endless source of eye candy. Plus their elusive nature make them very hard to spot. I have been looking for one (in particular the species in this spotting) ever since I first learned about them on Noah a few years ago. I was so happy to spot not one, but two species just 10 days before I left SE Asia in the spring. This species and the story behind it, inspired me so much, that I turned one of my photos into a tattoo recently. I spotted this in Kubah national park.
