A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pycnonotus leucogenys
This bulbul, also known as White-cheeked bulbul and belonging to the family Pycnotidae, is a mainly brown passerine bird, some 20 cm in length. Its back, wing covers, crest and tail are brown, while the underparts are pale yellow or dirty-white. Its face is black, with white cheeks. Sexes are similar.
Widespread in central Asia, seen in every district I had a chance to visit, from dry hills to lowland river banks.
