An adult male with his multicolored plumage and red eye. A female is seen in pics 2 and 3.

Habitat:

Spotted in the estuary waters of the Nisqually river at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Their breeding habitat is wooded swamps, shallow lakes, marshes or ponds, and creeks.
