Carolina Sphinx

Manduca sexta

Description:

Amazingly this moth was found in a high traffic area on the ground without injury. I relocated it to a tree where it would be out of harms way. It was a large gray, white and orange moth. There are two rows of 6 orange spots that run down the abdomen. This one was over 3.5 cm long.

Habitat:

Outside baggage claim at the San Diego International airport

Notes:

iPhone series :)
