Large Milkweed Bugs (nymphs)

Description:

These insects were crowding on a plant pod that was growing through my fence. There were different ages all together. The closer I got they would move to the other side of the pod. They did not fly away.

Thanks Aaron! There was a larger winged insect that look just like them near this site but not in the picture. Thanks for the education!!!

These particular insects didn't fly away because they are still immature and don't have wings as of yet. :-) The ones with the longer black structures on their backs (that looks like a vest) are probably a molt away from being winged adults.
